This herbal food can control cholesterol by reducing bad cholesterol (LDL). Red onions also contain methylallyl sulfide and sulfur amino acids that can lower bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol (HDL).

6. Prevent Cancer
Shallots have a lot of sulfur compounds. Sulfur can protect the body from cancer of the stomach, breast, lung, colon, and prostate. Eating raw garlic also helps cure urinary tract disorders.
